Privacy policy
Last updated October 12, 2026Kuttable cuts your videos on your phone. The short version: the video never leaves your iPhone, the audio is sent to our server only to work out which takes to keep and is deleted when the cut is done, and you can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app.
Who we are
Kuttable is made by Dominic Capaci LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste 63226, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Write to us at support@kuttable.com.
This policy covers the Kuttable app for iPhone and the website kuttable.com.
What happens to a video you cut
When you pick a video in Kuttable:
- The video stays on your phone. Reading it, finding the quiet parts and writing the final cut all happen on the iPhone. We never upload or receive your video or any frame of it.
- The audio is sent to our server. To tell a retake from the take you meant, the app sends the audio track of the recording to our server, which transcribes it and asks an AI model to judge which takes to keep. The audio is held in memory while that runs and is not stored. Our server runs on Expo’s EAS Hosting, which is built on Cloudflare.
- Transcription is done by Deepgram. The audio is sent to Deepgram for that one purpose and handled under Deepgram’s privacy policy.
- The take judgment is made by an AI model hosted by one of Anthropic, Cerebras or Groq, depending on the model in use. They receive the transcript, never the audio or the video, and do not use it to train models.
- The result is saved to your account so you can reopen a cut later: the transcript, which parts were kept and removed, the length before and after, the number of cuts, and the resolution. This is the recipe for the cut, not the video. The app itself keeps a small still image of each cut on your phone for the home screen.
Deleting a cut in the app deletes its record from your account. Deleting your account deletes all of them.
Your account
Kuttable creates an anonymous account the first time you open the app, identified by a random ID. It carries your cuts and your subscription and has no name or email attached.
If you sign in, we also hold:
- with Apple: the email address Apple gives us, which may be a private relay address, and your name if you share it;
- with Google: your email address, your name and your profile photo;
- with email: your email address. The sign-in link is sent through Resend.
Accounts are stored by Supabase in the United States. We use your email to sign you in, to send receipts and to answer support. We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
Purchases
- In the app, Apple handles the payment. We never see your card. RevenueCat, our subscription processor, tells us that your account has an active plan and which one, under an anonymous subscriber ID and Apple’s transaction ID.
- On the website, Stripe handles the payment. Stripe holds your card details and your billing address; we hold your email address, your plan and its status, and Stripe’s customer ID for you.
We keep purchase records for as long as tax law requires, which in the United States is seven years.
Technical data
Our server keeps ordinary request logs (IP address, time, the route called, how long it took) for a short period to keep the service running and to find problems. The app has no advertising or analytics SDK and does not track you across other apps or websites. The optional notification that a cut is ready is scheduled on your phone and never goes through a server.
Why we process this
To provide the service you asked for (cutting your videos, keeping your history, your subscription), to take payment, to answer support, to keep the service secure, and to meet legal obligations such as tax records. Where the law requires a legal basis, these are performance of our contract with you and our legitimate interest in running a reliable service.
Who we share data with
Only the processors named above, each for its one job: Deepgram (transcription), Anthropic, Cerebras and Groq (the take judgment), Supabase (accounts and history), Expo and Cloudflare (hosting), Apple and Stripe (payment), RevenueCat (subscription status) and Resend (email). We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not give it to anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
| Data | Kept until |
|---|---|
| Audio of a recording | The cut is done, minutes at most |
| Transcript and cut decisions | You delete the cut or your account |
| Account and sign-in details | You delete your account |
| Subscription status | Your account is deleted, plus any period the law requires |
| Purchase records | Seven years, for tax |
| Server logs | About 30 days |
Your choices
- Delete a cut: in the app, from the cut’s menu.
- Delete your account: in the app, Profile → Delete account. It removes your account, your sign-in details and your whole history. An active subscription keeps running with Apple or Stripe until you cancel it there, so cancel first.
- Cancel a subscription: iPhone Settings → Subscriptions for an in-app purchase; the link in your receipt email for a website purchase. The support page walks through both.
- Get a copy, correct something or ask a question: email support@kuttable.com. We answer within 30 days.
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you also have the rights to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority. If you live in California, you have the rights to know, to delete and to correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for using them. We do not sell or share personal information as those words are defined in California law.
Children
Kuttable is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Everything between your phone, the website and our servers travels over HTTPS. Your history is readable only by your own account. Keys to the services above are held on the server, never in the app.
Where your data goes
We are based in the United States and our processors run there. If you use Kuttable from elsewhere, your data is transferred to the United States and protected by the processors’ standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and if the change matters to you we say so in the app or by email before it takes effect.
